Spectrum Printing
At Spectrum we never say we are "green" or "environmentally friendly".
Manufacturing print damages our environment! Hey, getting up in the morning damages the environment. We use the term environmentally
preferable. If you need printed material and you are environmentally
concerned you must choose a waterless printing company that only uses waterless machines.
Why use a waterless printer?
Traditional printing presses needlessly consume water and isopropyl alcohol, a volatile organic compound, whilst printing. The isopropyl alcohol then evaporates. The result of this, greenhouse gases. Some printers try to get around this by claiming to use alcohol substitutes. Less evaporation, less greenhouse gases. These substitutes usually use glycol ethers as their base. This is a dangerous chemical that has to be handled using gloves as ingestion through the skin occurs on contact. So where does it go if it does not evaporate? It gets transferred with the ink to the printed material! Handle with care!
Our customers can be certain that they have chosen the most "environmentally preferable" printing company. Spectrum has been awarded the "Good Environmental Choice Australia" eco label. This means that at every step in the printing process we have to use world's best practice for the environment.
Bychoosing to use Spectrum Printing, customers are in a unique position. Includingthe "eco label logo" on their printed matter, demonstrates genuine corporate environmental governance with gree procurement objectives.
Customers can be certain that the overall environmental impact from paper use, inks, waste paper, waste management has been "independently assessed" and is audited on an annual basis resulting in Spectrum being clearly "environmentally preferable" to other printers.
